Good news!

In the selection rounds of 

the 2nd National Youth Intelligent Unmanned Systems 

Application Competition,

two student teams from GTIIT

stood out among 464 teams 

from institutions nationwide 

and advanced to the finals!

The two teams, respectively led by juniors Fan Jiayao and Zhou Runsong from Mechanical Engineering and Robotics program, participated in the "Ground-Based Anti-Drone Swarm Challenge" and the "Air-Ground Cooperative Swarm Transport Challenge". Their projects brought together mechanical design, electrical wiring, control programming, multi-module integration, intelligent mobility, etc., taking concepts to functional physical prototypes.

This competition is hosted by the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics (CSAA) and the China Ordnance Society (COS). It focuses on cutting-edge applications for intelligent unmanned systems, covering key missions such as reconnaissance, control, strike, transport, and defense, and is designed to foster hands-on innovation and enhance national defense literacy among young participants. GTIIT teams' advancement affirms their engineering capacity and their commitment to serving national defense through innovation.

The finals will be held on September 12–13, and GTIIT teams will head to Shanghai with their projects. It is an opportunity for them to test their skills, gain new insights through interaction with outstanding peers from across the country, and highlight the innovative energy of youth.

In recent years, GTIIT students have excelled in national engineering competitions—its first aircraft team won a national first prize in the China Universities Aircraft Design Competition (CUADC), and its first robotics team won the second prize in the Infantry Match of the RoboMaster University League (RMUL). These achievements reflect GTIIT's solid disciplinary foundation, hands-on teaching, and its educational commitment to practical innovation.
